Realization: A Retrospective of Paintings by Robert Halm
November 19, 1999 through January 16, 2000
This retrospective of Robert Halm's work includes landscapes, water scenes and still lifes ranging from the abstract to representational. Works from the retrospective vary from the intense hues of abstract colored fish to the muted colors of Midwestern landscapes that show Bob's appreciation for nature.
After earning an MFA from the University of Iowa Bob began
his career teaching at Fort Dodge Community
College and Senior High. In 1966 he began teaching
at Iowa Central Community College where he stayed until retiring in 1989.
Since the early fifties Bob has been a part of the Blanden in various positions
from Trustee to Museum Director to his current position as volunteer and
Docent instructor. His work for and with the Museum has covered five decades
and he remains an active and valued member of the community and the art
world. (right: Cooper's Cove Road, 1994, acrylic on masonite,
