Tradition: Paintings of San Diego County by the San Diego Chapter of the
California Art Club" will be on view at the La Jolla Art Association
Gallery, 7917 Girard Ave., La Jolla, California, through March 12,
2000.
The Chapter, the first in the California Art Club's 90 year history, is
particularly proud to exhibit with this historic organization which was
co-founded in 1918 by renowned early San Diego CAC members Maurice Braun,
Charles A. Fries and Alfred Richard Mitchell. in addition, Mitchell had
an annual one-man-exhibition with the Association for an incredible 42 consecutive
years until his retirement in 1966. Mitchell was also an influential teacher
in San Diego in the middle decades of the 20th century. (left: Pat

The La Jolla Art Association is a non-profit organization, but sales will be available directly from the exhibiting artists. There will be an artist's reception from 4:00 - 7:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 4, 2000. Regular gallery hours are from 10:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. daily, and 10:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M. Friday and Saturday. .
