Rosen interprets the art of Christopher Terry: "Christopher Terry's
subjects invariably appear as simple,
straightforward and uncluttered scenes of domestic
calm that reside squarely and solidly in place. There is a tranquility about
them and no inhospitable intruder nor wafting wind is going to upset the
stationary status of his composition. Our subconscious asks the question
about who or what has been here, or better still, who or what will be here.
His well-conceived titles... imply a certainty of identification, leaving
at the same time, each picture open for continuing definition." (left:
