Friends and Lovers

This exhibit features eight husband and wife artists. Six of the
painters were invited by 
Gustavo Castillo
and Carmen Lagos who had a major exhibit at
LeMoyne in 1996. The three couples took note of one another when participating
in many of the outdoor festivals included on the Florida and national circuit.
A pattern of sharing or winning top awards strengthened their admiration
and friendship. They have exchanged their art, taken vacations together
and have now agreed to show in their first exhibit together at LeMoyne.

LeMoyne's exhibitions, with the exception of the holiday
fund-raiser, are open to the public free of admission charges, and all events
are free to children under 12. The gallery, located at 125 North Gadsden
Street, Tallahassee, Florida 32301, is named in honor of Jacques LeMoyne,
an artist and explorer who came to Florida with the second French expedition
in 1564 under Rene de Laudonniere. LeMoyne was assigned to map the sea coast,
towns and rivers, and to portray dwellings of natives. (information as of
