Knoxville Museum of Art Hosts Twentieth Century American Drawings

The Knoxville Museum of Art presents Twentieth Century American Drawings, a fascinating exhibition that encompasses a great diversity of drawing styles and techniques, spanning the greater part of the twentieth century of American art. The exhibition opens May 28, 1999 and will be on display until July 18, 1999. Twentieth Century American Drawings has been organized by the Arkansas Arts Center Foundation Collection.

Twentieth Century American Drawings consists of 102 drawings by nearly 100 of America's leading artists of the 20fh century. The Arkansas Arts Center, widely regarded as having one of the finest collections of the 20th century American drawings in the country, is a museum dedicated solely to collecting "unique works on paper." Among the artists represented in the exhibition are Milton Avery, Thomas Hart Benton, Edward Hopper, Roy Lichenstein, Jackson Pollock and Georgia O'Keeffe.
