"Mandarins to Mariachis," a selection of paintings by Theodore N. Lukits
April 3 - May 2, 1999
"Mandarins
to Mariachis," a selection of Asian and Mexican-Californian paintings
by Theodore N. Lukits (1897 - 1992) brings to the public the unique opportunity
to view the works of this versatile artist. Theodore Lukits is one of America's
most intriguing Orientalist artists. Although his work includes numerous
fine American landscapes, it is his Orientalist paintings and sketches,
along with his Mexican-Californian works, that are featured in this exhibition
organized by the California Art Club, the Lukits Art Trust and Jeffrey Morseburg.
