The Seattle Art Museum is located at 100 University Street, Seattle, WA 98101-2902. The downtown museum closed for expansion January 5, 2006; and is reopening Spring 2007. The expanded museum, designed by Allied Works Architecture of Portland, Oregon, will almost double the current museum space. It will feature two free floors of public space, 70 percent more gallery space, a new restaurant and store. The closure of the downtown museum is necessary to seamlessly connect the expansion to the current museum, present a new display of the permanent collection as well as reconfigure circulation and exhibition space. During construction the Seattle Asian Art Museum will host diverse exhibitions and programs.

For hours and admission fees please see the Museum's website.

Why was this sub-index page prepared?

When Resource Library publishes over time more than one article concerning an institution, there is created as an additional resource for readers a sub-index page containing links to each Resource Library article or essay concerning that institution, plus available information on its location and other descriptive information.

Unless otherwise noted, all text and image materials relating to the above institutional source were provided by that source. Before reproducing or transmitting text or images please read Resource Library's user agreement.
