Creating a Reduction Woodblock Print

THE FOURTH COLOR RUN With the drawing transferred onto the Color Block, it was carved to print a large color field (fig 2-1, above left). The block was proofed for alignment to the Key Block and the previously printed color runs. It was then printed over the previous color runs (fig 2-1a, above right).

THE FIFTH COLOR RUN The Color Block was carved a second time, defining the texture in the adobe wall (fig 2-2, above left). The block was proofed for registration and then printed over the previous runs (fig 2-2a, above right).
