In November,
1924, Bischoff presented 12 canvases at the Biltmore Salon, including several
fresh scenes of the Monterey area. These recent subjects were A Cool
Drifting Fog (now in the Gardena High School collection), A Villa
on the Monterey Const and Windswept Twisted Cypress. These scenes
displayed a higher keyed color scheme and bolder color harmonies than previously
used. A few Pasadena scenes were also hung: Clouds Drifting Over the
Mountains which clearly shows the tendency toward stronger colors, especially
when compared to Cloud Shadows of 1912.
In 1924, Bischoff participated in the California Art Club
exhibition and won the Huntington Prize with Cliff Born Trees, a
Monterey painting. The next year, he entered another Carmel painting, Cypress
Point and he showed Point Lobos in the Painters and Sculptors
of Southern California show.
In 1926, Bischoff showed several Monterey scenes as well
as paintings of the desert area near Palm Springs and seascapes at Laguna
Beach. In 1927, he showed several works painted in Cambria, a small town
near San Simeon, California along with paintings of cows and farms painted
in the area.
In the summer of 1928, Bischoff
and another artist, J. Christopher Smith, traveled to Utah. Their paintings
were shown in October; Smith at the Wilshire Galleries and Bischoff at the
Kanst Galleries in Hollywood. 
Bischoff's
works were of Zion National Park, one of which received special mention
in the press review: a painting of old shacks against the red and pink crags
of the sandstone mountains.
The colors of these Utah scenes are particularly bright and bold. They reflect
the work of a true colorist with a secure knowledge of colors--not only
their role in nature but also their role in visual perception.
